Contents overview
In this seminar, students independently address a current academic research question in the field of management and leadership by producing a review-based seminar paper. Key thematic areas include strategic leadership, corporate governance, and sustainability.
Students engage with the main types of academic literature reviews. This involves, in particular, developing suitable review questions, conducting systematic literature searches, defining selection criteria, analyzing and synthesizing academic literature, and identifying research gaps and future research directions. The findings are documented in writing, presented, and discussed within an academic context.
Competencies
Students independently address a current academic research question in the field of management and leadership at the master's level. They systematically research relevant academic literature, critically analyze and evaluate it, and integrate it into a structured academic argument.
Students contextualize various review approaches, plan their own review project with methodological awareness, and identify research gaps within the existing literature. They synthesize theoretical relationships, propose future research directions, and present their findings in a scholarly manner, both in writing and orally.
Furthermore, they reflect on and defend their arguments within the context of academic discourse. In doing so, they acquire advanced methodological, analytical, and communication skills in preparation for further academic work, particularly the master's thesis.
